Up to GBP 400,000 attributed in a Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) competition, which aims at developing technology that will improve the ongoing management of inflammatory bowel disease for people living with the disease. Projects are to be carried by single organisations or in conjunction with others. The competition has 3 phases:
- phase 1: technical feasibility. Projects should last up to 8 weeks and total costs of each project can reach GBP 15,000 (GBP 75,000 total fund allocation);
- phase 2: prototype development and testing. Projects should last up to 6 months and total costs of each project can reach GBP 45,000 (GBP 135,000 total fund allocation);
- phase 3: pre-commercial testing to support continued development of the solution. Projects should last up to 1 year and total costs of each project can reach GBP 75,000 (GBP 150,000 total fund allocation).
