Out of the total funding allocation for the Romanian market of EUR 502.5 million, more than EUR 62.8 will be made available via the Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Energy Security Programme, which aims to reduce carbon intensive energy and increase security of supply.
The Programme supports the following areas:
• Energy efficiency in production, distribution and/or end use
• Renewable energy production and/or distribution
• Recovery of energy from waste or hazardous waste
• Energy security
• Renewable Energy policies in all relevant sectors
• Energy markets
Specifically, the programme targets greenhouse gas reductions and/or avoidance through energy efficiency measures, which shall deliver considerable reductions at a reasonable cost; the aim should be a maximum of EUR 150 grant per tonne CO2 equivalent per year reduced/ avoided.
The beneficiary state programme partners are the Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests, whilst the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) and the National Energy Authority (OS) are the donor programme partners.
Innovation Norway, is currently developing the “Concept Note” in order to define the scope and planned results of the Programme specifically.
